Alderbury Jack

Completed Project

Alderbury Jack are vintage furniture and upholstery specialists, bringing life back to pre-loved furniture in Winchester.

During an exciting time for the company, Alderbury Jack needed a new workshop to accommodate quickly growing sales orders.

As they planned to bring clients into the workshop during the projects they needed something that would be on brand and offer an experience of true vintage style. With that in mind, the asthetic was just as important as the structure on this build.

The building itself was formed from natural materials, with a solid oak frame which gave a sound and environmentally friendly structure. This was clad in reclaimed scaffolding boards, with the original printing and end bands still in place, providing a cost effective and unique look which worked perfectly with the ethos of this company.

Internally a bare ply wood floor provided a low cost, hard wearing solution for a heavy traffic area and complemented the exposed timber in the ceiling structure. The electrical system was installed in surface mounted metal containment, giving the space a vintage industrial style while still providing for all the power and lighting requirements of a busy workshop.

The wooden structure of the building allowed it to be completed much more quickly than a standard brick structure, and the whole project was completed in less than 6 weeks, allowing the company to start working on those all important orders. With real wood finishes and a neutral colour scheme the workshop is a warm and inviting space for clients and staff alike, and we are sure the company will continue to enjoy it for many years to come.
