Extension in Hedge End
On this project we removed an attached garage and extended the side and front of the property to create an additional bedroom and utility room with additional open plan living space.
The project was a pleasure for us, as the client is a home and family blogger and knew exactly what she wanted. It’s nice to have a clear idea of what we are aiming for from the outset, and it allows us to guage our success in achieving their vision. A welcoming entrance
Sometimes squeezing the most bedrooms or the biggest kitchen into a house isn’t the best idea, and giving space over to other areas can make the home much more comfortable to live in. On this project the client wanted to increase the space in the hallway by creating a lobby on the front of the house. This created a welcoming area for the family and their guests to enter the home, without sacrificing any of the rooms they needed.
Turning a garage into a utility room and kitchen
The client had found that the garage wasn’t being used to it’s full potential, so it was removed and the space was used for a kitchen and utility room instead. The addition of a shower to the utility room further increases the versatility of the area and is going to be especially useful for a growing family.
Creating an open plan kitchen diner
To create the open plan kitchen dining room a steel was installed in the wall of the existing building. This allowed the existing kitchen and new kitchen to merge into one space, and we built a stud wall to seperate the existing dining room from the lounge. The final touch was to drop the cieling in the new kitchen area to the same level as the dining room, hiding the steel and creating one seamless space.
Additional off road parking
With the increase in the number of cars on the road we are often asked to create additional parking space, and on this project this was achieved by taking up the front lawn and laying a block paved drive to create two additional parking spaces.
